The firm was established in 1924 and has remained in Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff-on-Sea for over seventy years, serving the needs of an extensive commercial and residential client base.  The two Mr. Wheeldons, father and son, originally occupied a small shop unit but it quickly became obvious that larger premises was required and they expanded into the whole of the ground unit.

After the Second World War, the late Mr. Norman Deacon restarted the practice as sole practitioner, expanding the work of the firm and consequently taking over the whole building.  In 1995 the firm  relocated to Admirals House due to the growing needs of their clients in all matters commercial and residential.  This move ensured that the best possible levels of service can be offered in premises in keeping with the deeply held traditions of the firm, by providing an efficient and suitable headquarters to incorporate the latest information technology.

Nelson Street is situated within the Clifftown Conservation area, adjacent to Southend Town centre, and in fact Nelson Street was the original main shopping street in Southend.  The road is named after Lord Nelson, following a visit he made to Southend, and the new premises were accordingly named Admirals House.

In 1996 we merged with  Quintin Davis Associates formerly Taylor Lloyd (founded in 1899). Both firms have since their inception carried out property management valuations and surveys of residential and commercial properties in South East Essex. The combination of these two firms has resulted in one of the largest collections of survey and valuation records of properties in South East Essex.

Today we are able to offer our clients traditional service with the benefit of modern methods and efficiency. We treat people as individuals so that you always have the opportunity to talk directly to the surveyor dealing with your instructions.

Wheeldon & Deacon have continued to build on its success and has amongst its wide client base plc's, companies, investors, local authorities and private individuals.
